Shower doors in Ogden

Ogden has the oldest housing we work in, and bathrooms in houses from the twenties and thirties were not built to any dimension you will find in a catalog. They have also usually been remodelled at least twice, which means the current opening is a compromise between the original plan and whatever the last person did.

The practical result is that we template every one of these. Not measure, template. There is a real difference: measuring records three numbers, templating records the actual shape including the lean and the out-of-plumb.

The other thing that comes up in Ogden more than anywhere else is what the wall will hold. A frameless enclosure puts real load into the wall through the hinges, and lath and plaster over century-old studs is not the same substrate as modern backer board. We check that before we quote instead of discovering it with a drill.
