What kind of glass work do you need?

Two different jobs with different priorities and timelines. Pick your side and we will send the right estimator.

Commercial
A long run of floor to ceiling glass office partitions installed on polished concrete

Storefronts, offices and buildings

Most of our work. Broken storefront glass gets boarded and secured first, then measured, ordered and swapped with as little closed-door time as we can manage.

  • Storefront glass and entrance doors
  • Emergency board-up after a break-in
  • Glass handrails and partitions
  • Reglazing existing frames where the frame is sound

Residential

Showers, mirrors and home glass

The softer side of the business. We template your opening, build the enclosure to fit and clean up behind us. Most shower and mirror jobs are in and out without a mess.

  • Shower doors and custom enclosures
  • Wall, vanity and gym mirrors cut to size
  • Broken window and patio door glass
  • Interior glass railings and panels

What we install and repair

One crew covers the whole scope, so a storefront, a handrail and a mirror do not turn into three separate contractors. We work on buildings, not vehicles, so if you need a windshield or a car window an auto glass shop is who you want.

Commercial storefronts and entrances

Broken or fogged storefront glass, aluminum entrance doors, closers and hardware. We board up the opening the same day you call so the space stays secure, then set the new glass once it is cut.

  • Tempered and insulated storefront glass
  • Entrance door glass and hardware
  • Reglaze an existing frame, or replace the frame
  • Board-up first, glass second

Shower doors and enclosures

Frameless, semi-frameless and framed. Measured to your opening, not to a box size, so the seal lines up.

Mirrors cut to size

Vanity, wall and gym mirrors. Cut, polished and hung level, including the oversized pieces most shops will not carry up a stairwell. See custom mirrors.

Glass handrails and railings

Interior and exterior glass railing panels, posts and standoffs for stairs, mezzanines and balconies. See glass railings.

Home window glass

Broken panes, failed seals and patio door glass, including double pane and tempered, replaced in the frame you already have where the frame is sound. See window glass repair.

Glass tabletops and shelves

Custom tabletops, shelving and display glass, cut and polished to your dimensions. We also take on repairs and restorations to existing glass.

Reglaze an existing frameCheaper Glass swapped, frame stays

When the frame is straight and only the glass failed. This is most jobs, and it is a fraction of replacing the whole unit.

New frame and glassDearer Frame and glass replaced

Only when the frame is bent, corroded or gone. We will tell you which of the two you are looking at when we measure.

Every quoteFree Priced in writing, before we start

Glass is priced by the piece, so the opening decides the number. We measure, put it in writing, and you decide from there. No number changes after you agree it.

Our work

Real jobs, photographed on site. The before and after pairs are the honest way to show glass work, because the finished article always looks easy.

After The same storefront completed with dark aluminum framing, fixed glazing and double entrance doors

Storefront glass broken right now?

Call first, then we board it up. An open storefront is a security problem before it is a glass problem, so we secure the opening and measure for the replacement in the same visit.

Why customers keep calling us back

Over 25 years in the glass trade. These are the four things repeat customers come back for.

A glass rack van loaded with cut glass panels standing on edge ready for delivery
Racked and loaded. Glass travels on edge or it does not travel.

Our own glass, our own van, our own crew

No subcontracted install and no waiting on somebody else's schedule. The measure, the glass and the fit are all ours, and that is the reason we can tell you a date and hold it.

We show up on time

A glass crew that misses the window costs a business a day of trading. We give you a time and we hold it.

The work holds up

Measured properly, set properly, sealed properly. Every install carries a one year warranty on our workmanship.

One crew, the whole scope

Storefronts, showers, mirrors and handrails are all in house, so you are not chasing three subcontractors for one building.

Where we work

The Wasatch Front, plus Park City and Tooele. Each has its own page covering what that city tends to need from a glazier. If you are just outside one of them, call and ask.

Questions we get asked

What is the average cost to replace glass in a window?
Glass is priced by the piece, so size, thickness and glass type decide the number and there is no useful figure to give over the phone. What we can tell you is which of two jobs you have: reglazing a sound frame, which is most jobs and much the cheaper, or a new frame with the glass, which is only when the frame itself has gone. We measure, price it in writing, and it does not change after you agree it.
Can you replace just the glass in a window?
Usually yes. If the frame is straight, sound and the hardware still works, the glass alone comes out and a new unit goes back in, which costs far less than a full window replacement. The frame only needs replacing when it has rotted, corroded or gone out of square far enough that a new unit will not seal.
How much does it cost to repair cracked glass?
Cracked glass is replaced, not repaired. Unlike a windshield chip, flat glass cannot be filled or resin injected, and a crack in a pane will keep traveling with every temperature change until it reaches an edge. The pane is cut to your opening rather than fitted from stock, and we price it in writing before any work starts.
How much does it cost to board up a broken window?
Board-up is priced by the size of the opening and what it takes to make it safe, so it is quoted per job. It is not the repair, it is what keeps the building secure while the replacement glass is cut to size. Call as soon as the glass goes and boarding is the first thing we do, not the last.
How long does it take to replace broken glass?
Stock sizes in a sound frame can often be done in a single visit. Anything cut to size, tempered, laminated or insulated has to be ordered and fabricated, which typically adds a few days. We tell you which of the two you are dealing with when we measure, so the timeline is known before you commit.
Do glass companies charge for an estimate?
Ours are free. We measure the opening, price the job in writing and you decide from there, with no charge and no obligation to book. Be wary of anyone quoting a firm price for cut-to-size glass without measuring, because the opening decides the price.
Is Alpha Brothers Glass licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold an active Utah contractor license, DOPL license number 13886429-5501, issued in 2024 and current through November 2027, with no disciplinary actions on record. Utah requires licensed contractors to carry liability insurance and workers compensation. You do not have to take our word for any of it: search the number on the Utah Division of Professional Licensing lookup and it comes straight up. If you are a property manager who needs it confirmed in writing for your records, ask and we will send it with the estimate.
Is the glass work guaranteed?
Every install carries a one year warranty on our workmanship. If something we installed does not hold, we come back out. The crew has over 25 years in the glass trade, and most of what we do is repeat work for the same businesses and property managers, which only happens if the last job held up.
What areas of Utah does Alpha Brothers Glass serve?
We work across the Wasatch Front: Salt Lake City, West Jordan, Riverton, Herriman, Park City, Layton, Clearfield, Ogden and Tooele. If you are just outside that list it is still worth calling, because it often depends on the size of the job.
